Hello, I'm Angie Brown
DipCBT, CCUI, and Practising member of NICE (National Institute for Canine Ethics). I'm a positive reinforcement Training Instructor, using science-based methods, to better human-dog relationships and train polite, well-rounded canine companions.
I am a certified Puppy Start Right Instructor, with the Karen Pryor Academy, and have completed courses such as Michael Shikashio Aggressive Dog Master Course.
I'm currently the first, and ONLY, Certified Control Unleashed Instructor in Scotland, thanks to the amazing program, created by Leslie McDevitt, and I'm delighted to meet you.
Angie's Story
Pawsitive Pups Dog Training came to be after I got Oskar my Blue Merle Border Collie. I thought I knew about dogs, having had them and trained them all my life. Until he was 7 months old, Oskar was a dream, exactly what I'd expected from my considerable research!
Then he woke up one day and started chasing cars, cyclists, runners, barking at people and generally behaving like he'd never had a days training in his life. I was mortified! Ah! Puberty. In this respect, dogs are no different than humans. They have the same hormonal imbalances, and growth spurts, that a teenage human does and some skate through it, unscathed, and for others, like Oskar it's a trial. Something specific to Border Collies too, it's usually from around 5 months of age they develop their 'eye', hence the chasing behaviours.
Thankfully I found an amazing mentor who specialised in Border Collies, which led me to Control Unleashed...and the rest his history.
Oskar has been my greatest, fluffy, joy, and my biggest challenge all rolled in to one, but I'm so grateful for him, and for all of my dogs as they've got me where I am today.
